Alva French wrote an interesting article about the NYC effect of the situation in the Cote d'Ivoire.  Things are starting to sound scary there, like they are heading towards serious military action. 

You'll have to go there because there is NO mention of Cote d'Ivoire (or Ivory Coast) on the World page in the NYTimes.com site. NOTHING!  There's only a bungled election, two presidents and a possible CIVIL WAR in Cote d'Ivoire.   PAY ATTENTION!  I suppose she's an old grey lady, indeed.

The current President Gbagbo recruited several thousand people to join his army at an event on Monday.  The Guardian  has that story.
